THE CRAZIEST THING I EVER DID ON A PLANE

"Are you CRAZY?!!" He looked positively horrified when I sat back down again next to him after he had watched me walk around the plane "YOU CAN'T DO THAT!! This is crazy AND dangerous!"
(I was on that plane headed to Hawaii only because I had been given a free ticket worth 2000 German Marks at the time -this is the early 90s- offered to me as compensation after I had volunteered to stay behind for a night when a different flight I was supposed to be on had been overbooked...)
To make the most of this opportunity, I booked my return flight for 2 months later. I had next to no money for this trip & knew I had to find a job STRAIGHT AWAY.
So as soon as the plane took off, I walked around & asked my fellow travellers if they had a job for me. Nanny anyone? Cleaner for your house? Waitress for your cafe? No one made an offer.
When I sat back down again, the young man next to me, said:
"Listen - this IS crazy & dangerous! My parents are going to pick me up at the airport in Hawaii. I am sure they would love to help you. If you like, come and meet them & see what you think." And so I went.
What happened next was astonishing:
His parents, Diana and John, welcomed me at the airport as if they had been expecting me & opened their arms, their life, & home to me WITHOUT ANY HESITATION - & then introduced me to their circle of friends who also opened their homes to me. One wonderful woman named Pat, who was going off on holiday somewhere, handed me the keys to her apartment on Waikiki Beach where I stayed for an entire month. I had the most extraordinary time.
I was 19.
I often ponder how my magical time in Hawaii only happened because of how I had approached life & my fellow human beings on that plane. This experience has shaped me/my life more than I can begin to describe.
So ...when a few years later, life felt rough and I was not in a great state, I thought that all I needed to do was move & travel and life would surely pick me up again! I went on a long journey to Spain - but the entire trip was a sheer disaster. Nothing wonderful happened, all doors stayed shut. I was miserable, teary and went back home not long after.
Here's what I’ve learned -and these insights today essentially also inform my coaching:
THE OUTER WORLD COMES TO MEET US THE WAY WE MEET IT - like some kind of reverse or half mirror that shows already what WILL eventually in the future walk towards and appear in front of it.
We find what we presuppose - trust, success & impact etc . They come toward us FROM the future we project from inside our hearts. (I do NOT in any way imply that, in reverse, every person facing brutal hardships and injustices has not met the world in 'the right' way and that they're to blame for their suffering. OBVIOUSLY not!)
BUT! I do think we get the best shot at life when we presuppose our desired outcomes.
OUR OUTCOMES REQUIRE A LEAP & the willingness to TAKE RISKS and the ability to replace the UNCERTAINTY IN THE OUTER WORLD with CERTAINTY IN OUR INNER WORLD.
Our desired outcomes require us to DEPART FROM THE NORM.
The future inside your heart is absolutely UNIQUE to you - so if the path ahead is already out there, "you are most likely on someone else's"...
When I went to Spain I wanted the world to do it/the work for me. "Save me!" was my whiney plea to Spain.
Today I know that our inner state NEVER COMES FROM the outer world EVER.
It can only EVER be found WITHIN.
When you understand and embody the above, find radical (self-)trust & project THIS out-
THAT is when you/we are at y/our most potent/powerful.
Inside-out creation is my jam. :-))
I have honed this skill all my life - as an artist, as a life-long nomad & as a coach.
What IS the life you are longing to create?
Is your inner state reflecting the problems you presuppose, reflecting the absence of solutions?
OR are you leading with the energy of the outcome you desire?

Become the clearest mirror of the future you desire.
People who work with me to get there faster.
